Cool logo for Liliu.co

06 August 2012

In Color has designed a logo for an upcoming web portal for outrigger canoe paddlers. The website will be called Liliu.co.

The name is derrived from the world's largest long distance canoe race, called, The Queen Lili'uokalani Canoe Race. This anual race takes place in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, and it was named after the queen, daughter of King Kamehameha, the first king of the Hawaiian Islands.

Paddlers refer to this race by its nickname, Lili'u. The logo was designed by In Color principal, Art Fisher. It consists of five canoe paddles, arranged in a manner to depict a plumeria, a flower commonly used in Hawaiian leis, and one that is seen widespread througout the Hawaiian Islands.

In Color is currently producing garments, hats and stickers with the logo. They will be for sale on Liliu.co.
